My little fish!

Mrs. Barbara has helped turn my scared little pool girl into a fearless fish in a matter of two month! We started the summer with Caroline being very afraid of the water and not wanting to let go. As you will see from the pictures below that has changed tremendously! Mrs. Barbara works with Caroline two afternoons a week and has been amazing. We are thankful Caroline had the opportunity to learn from Mrs. Barbara this summer!
It's actually a little scary how much Caroline enjoys the water and no longer has a fear of it. She will jump in and go! So that means that Mama needs to be READY!! Since we only have one more lesson, I thought I would take some pictures of their time together! Hope you enjoy!

kick, kick, kick

almost there, notice she's coming up for air.

going back to the steps-kick, kick, kickalmost

YEAH! She made it!
major accomplishment... she was not a fan of floating on her back

her favorite- jumping in!

look at that splash! I see a "splash" contest in her future!

The joys of summer...

Happy Birthday Dolan

Yesterday we got to celebrate Dolan's first birthday! Dolan's dad and Andy have been friends for many years. They don't get to see each other often but they have a great time when they do. We were excited that we were able to celebrate with them!

Caroline walked in the kitchen with all her stufff and said "I ready!" I think she has everything a girl needs-snacks, juice and her cell phone!!!!

Family Vacation, camping this time!

We are blessed that we get to go on vacation each summer with both of our families. Our vacation in June is with Andy's side of the family. We stay in a beautiful gated community, a gorgeous house and there are very few people on the beach at all. It is almost like being on a private beach by yourself. However, our July vacation is very different. We go camping with my family. Our camper is 30 feet long, has one bathroom, a double bed, a sleeper sofa, 2 bunk beds and a kitchen area without a kitchen table (Caroline's pack n play is in it's place...) The campground is crazy BUSY and the beach gets really crowded. However, we have a blast! I am very thankful that Caroline gets to experience a part of my childhood. I have such fond memories of camping with my family and I hope that as Caroline gets older, she will do the same.

I didn't have Internet access while at the beach so I wasn't able to update every day. It would take entirely too long to try to update so I decided I would create a top 10 list for our vacation!
  • #10-providing entertainment for the entire group! (I don't know what they would do with out me or my daughter!!! Consequences, phON, HOME, teaching Caroline new words, etc.)

  • #9-watching Emily, Jenna and Kyrstin (boy I remember those days... makes me think of my days at the beach with Tiffany, Heather and Chrissy)

  • #8-quiet lazy days.... no alarm clock

  • #7-my appreciate for my home... after 8 days in a small camper, my house feels like a mansion!!!!!

  • #6-annual frozen lemonade on the beach... oh how I live for those!

  • #5-beach days! a couple of hours in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening

  • #4-YUMMY family meals together

  • #3-Jennifer's REAL Kool aid

  • #2-watching Caroline... interact with my family who she doesn't get to see near enough and watching her enjoy the time on the beach as well. she could be a beach bum!!!

  • #1-Spending time with my family making sweet memories!

I am sure if we look, there are pictures of me with Jared about this age... wow, time sure does fly by!
this is the way they left us....

Caroline loved having granny at the beach

Caroline dressed herself one morning

loved this one!

I would love to know what she was thinking about.

having fun in the sun

breakfast in bed

the girls just waking up

in the "clubhouse" on our campsite

feeding the ducks "ducky bread"

story time with Aunt Lill, notice even Lucy joined in

following Claire's every more, she thought she was just as big!

Caroline was having so much fun playing by herself. Little did we know there was an explosion taking place in her diaper!!!!!!!

she loved riding the golf cart with Aunt Jen Jen and Uncle Randy. She also loved drinking choc choc in the mornings at their camper. Her momma didn't have that.

Alston, Jake and Emma on the boards

Caroline learned how to open and eat peanuts while on vacation. Go girl!

gotta love coupons!

Today I got a lot of great deals and was super excited!
  • (2) 12 packs of Kleenex Cottonelle (24 double rolls)
  • (2) 4 packs of disposable razors (8 razors)
  • (2) containers of strawberries
  • (2) packages of Hillshire Farms lunch meat
  • (1) package of yogurt
  • (1) bottle of seasoning salt
  • (1) package of blueberries

Total before savings: $56.00

Total coupons used:$34.00

Total out of pocket: $22.00

Thank God for Insurance!!

When we went to the ER for Caroline's empty medicine bottle episode, they copied my insurance card and that was all. They never asked for a copay or anything. I knew that it would be a doozie considering all the tests that they ran. Well the bill finally came. 4 hours in the ER, lab work, charcoal prescription and test results.... total close to $1000!

Monday night we were talking in our small group about the privilege Andy (men/women) has to go to work each day to provide for his family. The thought really hit home when we received this bill. We are thankful for great insurance (thanks to the hubby's company) and that we only owe $25. I can't imagine how people pay for those visits...

"I potty momma"

***May be too much information for some...***

This morning I went to use the potty. Of course Caroline followed me in. As soon as I sat down, she said "I potty momma." After I finished, we stepped out of the high heals, dropped the pocket book and wand, took off her dance costume and then her diaper. All the while I was thinking, 'this is such a waste of time.' :0) I sat her on the potty and turned the water on. The next thing I know, baby girl is tinkling in the potty. I was so surprise and so excited!

I would really like to work on potty training around her 2nd birthday so we shall see. I would LOVE to have the extra cash that we send on diapers. However, I know that she is young so I am not going to get my hopes up just yet...

Daddy's hat

This morning Caroline and I got in the car to go out to run some errands. She immediately saw Andy's visor beside her carseat. She picked it up and said "I want Daddy's hat." I thought she looked pretty cute in it! :0)

Annual boat trip

Today was our annual boat trip! We had a great time! The weather was perfect and not too hot. We enjoyed being in the water, a picnic lunch and then some time on the ski's. Even though I can't do all the fancy tricks on ski's that the guys can, it's still good to know that I can actually get up out of the water!! Already looking forward to next years trip!
***The pictures are out of order, sorry.
Rhett helped Amy B get ready to get up on ski's. Then he had to swim to the other boat... finally he made it.
