Baby Mags

On the way to church this morning, we heard the following conversation in the back seat.

Mags: Do you wish I was still a baby?
Caroline: YES!
Mags: Why?
Caroline: Because you couldn't TALK!

Happy Birthday McCall

Happy birthday sweet McCall!  Caroline was SO excited to get to attend this years birthday party!  Last year she was diagnosed with the flu the day before the party.  Earlier this week she had a cough and said "I hope I'm not getting sick...if I miss McCall's birthday party again for being sick, it will become a tradition and not a very good one."

The girls had an absolute blast!!  Pretty sure it will be a party to remember.  As we were about to leave the party, we noticed McCall's younger sister crying.  The girls were on the ground searching for something while Baylor has in her moms arms.  I walked over to see if I could help...McCall was so excited about her party that she did a cartwheel that ended with kicking Baylor's tooth out, gashing Baylor's lip (that would result in 9 stitches) and a gash on McCall's heal.  Oh my!

The girls had a plan and they stuck to it.  They watched movies, ate popcorn, enjoyed a snack bar and who knows what else.  Caroline said they stayed up until 12:45 and set an alarm for 7.  (Oh to be that young again!)  As you can imagine, she wasn't ready to leave when we picked her up but it was time.  She was exhausted and you could see it.

I love the friendship these girls have enjoyed over the last 4 years.  I'm not ready for this sweet ride to end...I do pray that they continue to stay close even as they go their separate ways next year!

Date Night with Mags

Caroline is at her BFF's house for a birthday party sleepover.  So that meant a date night with our sweet Mags.  She wanted Zaxby's for dinner and shopping at Target.  She had an absolute blast being an only child.  Andy and I both are always AMAZED at the difference in her attitude and behavior when she is the only one, not trying to 'steal' the attention from her sister.  Very thankful for our time tonight.  She is currently snuggled up in the bed beside me as I type.  This is the first time she has slept with us without being sick.  She was pretty pumped!

Spring Carnival

Nothing says family fun like a spring carnival at the elementary school!  Apart from the meltdowns, Maggie's lost shoe at the inflatables (yep just one) and the tears after dropping the cake walk prize cupcake, we had a blast! It was fun to see so many of Caroline's friends.  Prior to going, Maggie got in trouble and we weren't going to let her go.  One of us was going to take Caroline while one stayed home.  Well instead of only punishing Maggie, we punished Caroline too.  She went to her room in tears.  When we asked why she was crying she said "I really wanted to take Maggie tonight...I wanted her to play games and I wanted to teach her some new games."  Well if that wasn't the sweetest...we backed out and said ok!

Fun on Granny's farm

We got to Mom's early yesterday so that we could watch Emma play softball before the oyster roast.  Well once we got there and the girls realized that Granny wasn't going to the game, they didn't want to go either.  So they stayed behind but I told them they weren't allowed to watch TV or play on Granny's kindle.  So Mom made sure she and Uncle Bob kept them busy splitting would.  I am sure Maggie only asked 101 questions.

When Mom sent me the pictures, I was so thankful they stayed behind.  They were having a blast.  Uncle Bob took Caroline for a ride on the tractor and tears filled my eyes when I saw it.  We have several pictures of Daddy taking other kids in the family on tractor rides.  I myself have such found memories of riding with my Daddy...the only difference was his tractors were not this nice 35 years ago.  I remember being so excited with any chance I got to ride with my daddy...oh how I wish he was here to take the girls on tractor rides...but it makes me that much more thankful that Uncle Bob is carrying on the tradition...

Birthday Oysters

Several years ago, we started the tradition of having an oyster roast for our birthday's.  Mom prepares the food and we show up.  It's wonderful!  It started out with oysters and shrimp creole for adults and hot dogs for the kids.  This year, we had oysters, crab balls and catfish nuggets!!!  It was so GOOD!!!  I love any chance I get with my siblings and nieces and nephews!!  Just like Thanksgiving, everyone was there!!!  Jenna was home from school on Spring Break and both Jared and Joy were off work!!  Such a gift!!

These girls had a blast on this razor!  I was just praying they didn't get hurt.  Maggie's facial expression says it all!

 Getting started
 Gorgeous night to be outside
If you look carefully, you will notice an outfit change for Mags.  They were all down at the river bank catching minows and other things.  About 15 minutes after they went down, I hollered to Mags and said "DON'T GET WET!"  Her response "too late..."  She slid off the side and her beautiful boots along with her pants were covered in black mud!  I wasn't thrilled...thankfully we borrowed some of MC's clothes and all was well.  The kids had a blast catching shrimp and crawdads.
 Enjoying our oysters!

Once the big kids came in from the river, they tied lines from the dock to see what they would catch and they caught this huge catfish. My girls were amazed!  This big catch led to more time by the dock to see what else they could catch.

 Happy 46th birthday Bob!!
Uncle Daniel always has tricks...he's the biggest kid in the family!  Emma wanted a little whip cream and got this instead!!

Friday Night Fun with Friends

Andy and Chris are on the annual guys camping weekend.  So Charissa and I decided to hang out with the girls.  Charissa and Catherine brought yummy pizza for dinner.  After dinner, I treated the girls to Rita's Ice.  The girls enjoyed playing together and Charissa and I enjoyed catching up.  It's isn't often we have 3 hours to chat, just us!!  Such a gift!  I am so very thankful for her friendship!!

One guess

This may or may not apply to one of our girls...one guess who it might apply to? :-)

First Day of Spring

We celebrated the first day of Spring with a free treat from Rita's Italian Ice.  It's a little ironic that the first day of Spring is the coldest, rainiest day we have had in a while.  We're looking forward to warmer weather!!

JV Baseball Game

Tonight Peyton and Jake had a baseball game pretty close to our house.  So we went out to support them.  This is Jake's first year so bless his heart, he helped cheer his team on and did an excellent job!  Peyton played second base and did really well.  He had a few hits but unfortunately didn't get on base.  I LOVED every minute of being there cheering them on.  I especially loved hanging with my family in the stands!  Such a fun night!  And the best news is that we all get to be together again this weekend!!!!!!
It was a little chilly as the sun went down.  The girls preferred Mr. Archie and Granny's blankets although we had their blankets in the van.  Both girls felt it was important to sit in Granny's lap together!
They wanted to take a silly picture...we got to work on Granny's silly face! :-)

So proud of these boys!!!!
