day 5

We woke up to cloudy skies this morning.  Uncle Greg, the girls and I made our daily trip to get the newspapers.  I have decided that I wouldn't have a weight problem if everyday looked like this.  People sharing living space, hanging out, having lots of folks to entertain the kids, people to share the cleaning responsibilities and 1-2 hours a day to walk.  Awe...a girl can dream right?  The boys completed another puzzle and had it ready when we woke up.  We had planned to spend the morning at the Hammock Shops but just as we were about to walk out the door, everyone ready, the rain came.  So instead we enjoyed a lazy day at home.  We worked on a new puzzle during Maggie's nap time.  When she woke up we attempted the shops again...this time it began raining again.  The radar looked like it was a quick shower so we headed out anyway. :0)  We had a great time.  We were pretty lazy today but oh so thankful for some downtime together.

Uncle Greg helping Maggie with letter recognition and puzzle skills. :0)

We visited the candy shop first and both girls were thrilled with their purchases.
We enjoyed some time outside while Daddy cooked dinner on the grill.

day 4, Happy Birthday Tomi Jean!!!

I can't believe that we are already on day 4 of vacation.  Time flies by when you are having fun!  We have enjoyed sunny moments, rainy lazy days and everything else in between.  When you go to bed thinking the next day has 90% chance of rain only to wake up to sunny skies...life is good!  The girls and I have enjoyed going for morning walks.  It's easy to get 10,000 steps in before breakfast when you aren't on a schedule.  :0)  Today we didn't get to the beach until around 10:30.  Even then the skies weren't too promising but we tried.  It was glorious!

I had to laugh as I caught this picture...this picture shows a lot about Uncle Greg.  We are all settled on the beach, having fun and he is still bring things out for us.  He is such a servant!!
Caroline got her first boogie board and she LOVED it!!!!
Maggie made some progress...today we actually SAT in the sand and played by herself.  Lord only knows what she will be doing by the time we leave!!
Aunt Tomi Jean took Maggie for a walk

Maggie LOVES cousin Joe or Jo Jo as she calls him, especially when he gives her food.

Our first 1,000 piece puzzle finished...actually there were only 999...
Tonight we had our annual trip to Franks.  This year we were able to celebrate Tomi Jean's birthday.  When we got home, we enjoyed cake and ice cream!!  YUMMY!
After that, it was back to business, puzzle #3.

day 3

It appears that we have missed the worse part of the Tropical Storm.  We woke up this morning to sun, rain, sun, rain...finally the sun came out to stay.  The girls and I went for a nice long walk to attempt to let the other folks in the house get some sleep.

Not knowing what the weather would be like as the day went on, we headed out early, just after breakfast to try to get some good beach time in.  Maggie still wasn't thrilled about the ocean but she would play in the sand today.

Mermaid Caroline
Mermaid Maggie...only she wouldn't stay still long enough for us to complete the task.
First day at the pool and she wasn't too thrilled about getting in the pool but would put her feet in the water...it's crazy this kid isn't scared of anything yet the beach and the pool scare her silly! :0)

We enjoyed dinner on the inlet.  It was a beautiful night.  The wind was blowing...exactly what you think about when you think about the beach.  The restuaruant had a stash of oyster shells that you could throw in the inlet.  Jack, Caroline and Maggie enjoyed that.

Caroline and Andy enjoyed claim chowder and crab legs.  I am honestly not sure who enjoyed their dinner more!
Back at the house we all enjoyed banana splits and puzzles.  Still working on the 1000 piece vintage toy puzzle.

day 2

According the today's forecast, we only had about 3 hours of sunshine this morning. So we headed out around 8:30.  We enjoyed a fabulous morning before the storms moved in.  Caroline was SO excited to have Jack to jump the waves with her.  Maggie didn't make it to the water but she did enjoy the actual beach.   The storm did move in around noon and was here to stay.  However, it was a great start! :0)

SO SO SWEET!
I could totally LIVE here!!!  I love this house!!!

Caroline picked up a book at Barnes and Noble to enjoy while she "sunned."

Aunt Tomi Jean thought Maggie needed someone to lay down with her...4 hours later Maggie woke up.
Uncle Greg made sure she has plenty of "happy cake" after dinner.
