New Years Beach Trip

What a fun trip we had celebrating the end of 2018 and the start of 2019.  Sadly the last two years have not been the same...unfortunately our schedules just don't allow us all to get together anymore.  However we had a WONDERFUL time with Lia and Stacey and their girls.  It was so fun to watch the girls play together and enjoy each others company without technology.  All the girls brought either their American Girl doll or their Bitty Batty.  I love watching their imagination flourish playing with this.  I am so thankful that they still enjoy these simple things in life.
The big girls helped prepare meals for us.
The winter scene they created with their girls.

We dodged rain off and on throughout the trip.  Monday as a great day to enjoy time on the beach.  It felt wonderful.  Thankful for cool but warm time on the beach.

The girls were super excited that their mote actually worked and the water went into the pool.

 Sweet little friends holding hands

The older girls were determined to ring in the new year at midnight.  They were giddy!  They ate way too many snacks and watched way too much TV but they made it!!  They celebrated with sparkling grape juice!   This is the first kiss Andy and I have shared at midnight in a LONG time...pretty sure we only stayed up because we wanted to celebrate with our girls.

What a gift to be able to get away from normal life and enjoy time with friends who are like family!  Something about doing daily life with others is easier...laundry, prepping meals, cleaning up, etc.  It's also good to see that others have struggles just like you and maybe your life with kids isn't as crazy as you thought! :-)  Andy and I said this was the first year in a LONG time where we were truly able to relax because we weren't chasing a toddler.  The kids were able to play independently without much supervision. I truly hope our girls will look back at these trips and have the same great memories we do!!

Picnic Breakfast

The girls woke up this morning and decided to make their own breakfast for a picnic in their room with their dolls.  It was quite the breakfast!  Trying to capture these sweet moments while I can!

Lights

We have tried several times to visit the lights that benefit the animal shelter.  It seems everytime we had plans to visit, the rain came and we weren't able to attend.  However, tonight we finally got to visit and it was AWESOME!  There weren't too many people there which made it really nice for the girls to explore without bumping into people or us losing sight of them.

Christmas Morning

We had a fantastic Christmas day here!  The girls woke up shortly after 5 but stayed in their bed until about 5:25.  They were super excited!  We didn't have anything scheduled for today which was wonderful!  I didn't try to carry on any special meal traditions or anything.  It was a laid back day and just what we needed.  We enjoyed the down time together!  This may have been our sweetest Christmas day yet! :-)
Bentley left these for the girls...he also asked the girls to remember to be sweet to each other because sisters are a real gift!

Meet Sarah Grace Lila, Maggie's very own American Girl doll!
Caroline was THRILLED to get her new black and white glasses!

Caroline was SUPER excited to finally get a FitBit

Keeping breakfast super simple...everyone loves it!

Caroline created this wrapping paper at our family day at the museum.  She was super excited to wrap her gift to Maggie.  LOVE their love for each other.
Caroline's gift to Maggie just happened to include a matching shirt for her. :0)

A sweet friend shared this quote with me from Andy Rooney.
"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas Day.  Don't clean it up too quickly!"
Both of our mom's enjoyed the morning with us and ate lunch with us.  The girls loved having Granny and Peep with them.
