This weekend was jammed packed with lots of fun and exciting events! We are exhausted tonight but couldn't be more thankful for family and friends that we got to spend this weekend with!
Friday night we celebrated Stacey's birthday!
Our girls played outside for about 3 1/2 hours and would have stayed longer except it was completely DARK!! So we ate cake and ice cream and they watched a movie while we chatted on the back porch. So thankful to see this family for more than 3 minutes at the coffee corner at church! Did I mention it was after 10PM before we left and almost midnight by the time we got to bed????
Saturday we hit the road bright and early for our friends wedding. We wanted to make the most of the trip and see as many people in the area as possible. We started by visiting Mrs. Virginia, my adopted grandmother! She treated us to a yummy lunch at O'Charlies! It was so nice to see her since we don't get to visit often...this sweet lady has been by my side through so many of life's adventures and I am SO THANKFUL for her! :0)
We were in town for our friends John and Susan's sons wedding. Instead of having a kid free weekend away and staying at the local Hampton, our friends invited us to spend the night with them. Caroline LOVED being with Wyatt, Walker and Lala. They played in the backyard, went to the park with the sitter and were all asleep by 8!
The adults enjoyed an amazing evening! The wedding was so sweet and absolutely beautiful! Wish I had taken a few pictures...oh how I love weddings! So thankful we were able to celebrate the start of Jack and Laura Anne's life together. We have been praying for this young lady for the last 6 years in our small group and such a gift to see God's faithfulness!!
The zoo was about the half way point for our trip home, so we decided to take advantage of being so close! We thought that it would be dead given that it was a Sunday morning around 11, WRONG! The place was packed! We had to park close to the picnic area, which we usually do only because we want to, not because we have to! Caroline LOVED having daddy there...he hasn't been with us since she was a tiny little thing. She thought she needed to show him around and tell him all about the zoo.
She didn't want to feed the giraffes but thought daddy needed to!
When she saw the Llama she said "OH MY MERCY!"
Zoo trips aren't complete without a ride on the carousel. We realized yesterday the skinny poles mean the animal doesn't go up and down...some little curly headed girly wasn't too thrilled about that.
lunch of champions, daughter like daddy
Within minutes of leaving the zoo...now that's how you end vacation!
Words can't really express how much fun we had this weekend! Thankful for good friends and great family!
