We were so sad to leave the beach this morning...what a wonderful week it has been! We thought it might be fun to take the girls to see Aladdin...thought it might cheer us all up. We went to the early show. We don't visit the movies often so we always hope it's a great show and worth our money. Aladdin DID NOT disappoint! It was fabulous.
The movie theatre on the other hand had a few glitches...about half way through, the power went out...we didn't realize there was a horrible storm outside. We waited about 15 minutes for the movie to start playing. With about 5 minutes left, the movie continued to play but the screen got small AND the previews starting playing and therefore we couldn't hear the ending of the movie. Thankfully we knew how it ended but we were still pretty bummed that we paid good money for the movie. Andy asked the manager about it and he generously gave us 4 tickets for another show!! We're pretty excited!!

Day 6
If vacation has to come to an end, today was the perfect day to finish out the week. We celebrated Tomi Jean's birthday!!! She is such a gift to those who know her! Can't imagine life without her. The temps today were much cooler than earlier in the week and there was a fabulous breeze. Uncle Greg and I have walked every morning this week...I so look forward to these walks with him each year. We typically head out around 7:45 for an hour long walk. It is a great way to start the day. This week we have been excited to "play" in the sprinklers. They are a great way to cool off when it's 85 degrees at 8 am. I thought this was a fun way to capture our morning walks!
Andy fixed the regular grits, bacon and sausage for breakfast. Then we headed out around 11 for a fun day of beach, sun, sand and pool. The most exciting find today was a live conch in a conch shell. After several hours, the girls came up for lunch at 2:30. I headed back around 3 and stayed until 5. It was glorious!!
Tonight consisted of washing clothes, packing, emptying the fridge and the panty. Not too exciting...sad to see another week come and go...we are blessed and always so grateful for the generosity of Tomi Jean and Greg. We look forward to this week ALL YEAR long!

Day 5
Jack's newest talent...balancing a drink can on his head
Tonight we went out for our annual seafood meal. It was delicious! Tomorrow night will be 'clean out the left overs' for dinner night. I can't believe how quickly this week has flown by once again!
Uncle Greg resting...this doesn't happen too often!
The view from the front porch...it never gets old!

Day 4
Today was extremely HOT! The flies on the beach were no fun. The pool was great but it was still HOT! Everyone was back inside by 2 PM. It was a good day to catch up on rest. Caroline and Joy worked on a small puzzle last night and finished it this morning. Today Uncle Greg was a little late putting up the tents so I got him in action. He has such a servant heart and sets our tents up every day without complaining. They are usually much appreciated and just what we need but even today they weren't enough. BUT thank you Uncle Greg for always serving us! This week is flying by way too fast!

Day 3
Today was an extremely HOT day! We were very thankful for Uncle Greg's tent and the shade! Today was our last day having everyone together. Starting this afternoon we will lose about a person or two per day. It won't be the same without everyone. Maggie didn't want to come to the ocean so she and Andy spent most of their time at the pool. Caroline and I enjoyed being with everybody on the beach. We spent some time at the pool before heading in for lunch at 3:00! :-)
