Daddy Daughter Date Weekend...they're ready to RUMBLE!

Last Fall, Caroline mentioned that she would LOVE for her and Andy to go to the WWE Royal Rumble in Indianapolis, Indiana.  We didn't think she was serious so we didn't put much stock in it.  When we started writing our Christmas lists, she said the only thing she wanted was for and Andy to go to the Royal Rumble.  At that point, we realized this was really something she wanted to do and something that we needed to make happen.  So we booked the hotel and airfare and bought the tickets.  Then began the countdown...they were so excited.  I was a little teary when I dropped them off.  I was leaving half of my heart at the airport ready to board a plane.

Thankfully Caroline loved flying, said it might be her new hobby.  They made all their boarding times and made it safely to the hotel.

Once on the ground in Indianapolis, they got checked into their hotel, changed into warmer clothes and walked downtown to dinner.  They found a yummy mom and pop Italian restaurant and enjoyed a delicious dinner.

Saturday morning, they got up early and got breakfast at Panera.  Caroline wanted to do some shopping downtown but most of the stores didn't open until 11:00.  So she managed to find a few new tops, which she was really happy about.
Time for the big event...with 65,000 of their favorite friends, fans and wrestling family!

Charlotte Flair won the ladies event and Cody Rhodes won the mens event.  Both made them very happy.
They left the hotel this morning at 5:30 to head to the airport for an early morning departure.  I asked Caroline if flying was still her favorite hobby and she said "let me get breakfast before I answer."  I was SO SO SO thankful to see their plane land and she them step off!!
Mags made a welcome home sign for them and our friend Mrs. Lori who was also on their flight!

We were so thankful for them to go but so thankful to see them come home.  Tonight as I said goodnight to everyone, I was SO grateful to have us all under one roof again!

Mags and Me

With Andy and Caroline out of town, Mags and I have enjoyed our time together.  Last night Mags had a sleepover with her sweet friend Ava.  We planned to go to Sam's for dinner but the club was closed so we had to come up with plan B.  We got mac n cheese to bake when we got home.  While looking for dinner, we stumbled upon the pj section...the girls NEEDED matching pj's for their sleepover. The finally found the two sizes they needed and were so excited.  They watched movies, painted nails and giggled a lot.  I managed to talk them into turning in early around 10:45.

They slept in until around 8, which I was impressed.  They then made pancakes and sausage for breakfast.  After breakfast, they played volleyball outside and did hair and make up.  Once Ava went home, we met Aunt Tomi Jean for lunch and then went dress shopping for the father daughter dance.  We shopped for about 3 hours and Maggie said she was ready to go home...a girl after my own heart!

Tonight we watched a movie and ate Zaxby's.  Maggie has told me several times today that "this is the best day ever!"  It wasn't anything special but it was just what we both needed.

Terrific Kid and Math Fact Master

Maggie was recognized today for mastering ALL of her timed math facts test (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).  She has WORKED so hard over the years to accomplish this goal.  We were excited to celebrate this milestone with her.

She knew we received an invitation to the awards ceremony because of her math facts but what she didn't know was that she was also chosen as Terrific Kid.  She was chosen for her hard work and determination.  She is also a kind student and friend, always happy to help and follow directions.  While we are super proud of her academic accomplishments, we are most proud of the person she is!  Character means more than any academic accomplishment. Maggie keep smiling and shine bright sweet girl!!!  God is going to use you in BIG ways!

We have SNOW!!!!

Two weeks ago several weather forecaster forecasted snow for our area.  We got NOTHING!  However about 5 days ago snowflakes started showing in the forecast.  I wanted to get excited but didn't want to get too excited.  As it got closer, some models showed no snow while others were showing 6-12 inches.  I didn't want to lose power nor did I want to be stranded but a couple inches sounded really exciting!  I grocery shopped with the hopes of wanting all things cold weather foods.  The weather nor my food disappointed.

Tomato soup with grilled cheese as we watched the flurries fall
Maggie and Mica wanted to play in the first snow fall.
Snow cream round 1
We walked Mica home and loved this beautiful picture!
I created this delicious cider before bed.  I turned it on low and let it simmer until we woke up.  It was absolutely delicious!  It was a yummy treat to enjoy throughout the day.

Not knowing how much more snow we would get, I decided to take a picture before bed.  So quiet and peaceful!

Our hardest snow fall was supposed to come around midnight.  So I stayed up to catch the beauty of the snow.

We woke up to a winter wonderland!

Maggie wrote this for me!
The girls both have eLearning today.  It gave me a chance to enjoy the yummy apple oatmeal and apple cider with my quiet time.

A little family fun while both girls were on their lunch break.

Our only snowman...way to go Caroline!

Fun with friends...the perfect way to end this glorious snow day!!

Silly Girls

Today the girls and I were all out of school.  It was nice to have an easy day with a slow start.  Caroline had a dentist appointment.  After that, we met Aunt Tomi Jean for lunch.  While sitting at lunch, the girls decided they needed to go shopping at Ulta and TJ Maxx.  I needed the steps so I walked over to Ulta...the girls took these silly pictures while waiting for me to arrive.  I love their love for each other, although somedays I question it.  When it counts, they support each other to the core.  I pray that they always remain strong together and have each others back.

Cocoa, cousins and cookies!

Cocoa, cousins and cookies!  Maggie and Avin had a cookie and cocoa stand today to raise funds for their upcoming camps/trips.  Maggie made the cookies and Avin made the hot chocolate.  The rain lasted longer than expected but thankfully finished just before the stand opened.  We didn't have a ton of customers BUT the customers we did have were very generous!  I even had a friend from high school send me money for the girls, which I thought was so sweet!  We are so very blessed with some of the nicest folks who support our girls.
